PROFESSIONAL INSPECTION SERVICES

Gap Mountain provides State mandated special inspections, material testing, and quality control inspections in accordance with State building codes. Our services include noise and vibration monitoring, compliance, reporting, controls, and documentation during blasting, pile driving, and other heavy civil construction operations. Our team includes licensed professional engineers, engineers in training, AWS-CWI certifications levels 1 to 11, ANST Ultrasonic Level III1, and requisite OSHA 10, 30 and 40 hour safety. We group our inspection units into Special Inspections, Bridge Condition Rating, Dam Condition Rating, Construction Engineering, and Resident Engineering.

SPECIAL INSPECTIONS

State building codes mandate special inspection of residential, mixed use, commercial and industrial facilities that meet threshold criteria in their use and occupancy. The Gap Mountain team brings 20-years of experience specialized in providing special inspections for Owners and design teams on projects throughout New England, New York City, Virginia, West Virginia and Texas.

BRIDGE CONDITIONS & RATINGS

Bridges are designed to carry rated vehicle loads by engineers that design them. They require continuous inspection, maintenance and repair. Often this work is deferred until there are significant structural concerns. Gap Mount specializes in the design, inspection and rating of State, municipal and private bridges in compliance with State and AASHTO standards. Our services include routine and forensic inspection and testing, analytical rating and documentation a bridge’s capacity to carry vehicles, and design of major maintenance and repairs to correct deficiencies.

DAM CONDITIONS & RATINGS

Like bridges, dams that have been designed by engineers require continuous inspection, maintenance and repair. Gap Mount specializes in the design, inspection and rating of water company, municipal and private dams in compliance with the Army Corps of Engineers, and State environmental and building codes. Our services include routine and forensic inspection and testing and design of major maintenance and repairs to correct deficiencies.

CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING

On-site, full and part-time technicians, engineers in training, and professional engineers responsible for documenting and assuring the quality of construction. Our clients include federal, State, commercial, industrial, energy, and coastal Owners and contractors throughout areas surrounding our offices or a 2-hour driving radius Jaffrey, CT, New Haven, CT, or Sarasota, FL.

RESIDENT ENGINEERING / OWNER PROJECT MANAGER

On-site, full-time professional in responsible charge on behalf of an Owner during construction. This service is also known as owner representation (OR) or project manager (OPM). We use the term Resident Engineer for projects that we assign a full-time professionally licensed engineer in responsible charge of assuring the quality and compliance of a contractors work in accordance with complex technical and engineering designs with performance that meets threshold limits on waste, such as wastewater treatment or other industrial process. More typically we use the term OPM, where we assign a more senior construction or engineering professional skilled in organizing, managing, leading, and administering design and construction projects through the processes of planning, financing, designing, permitting and building.
